Welcome
Welcome to a website on Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EE) a comprehensive source of information and educational tools for people with Eosinophilic Esophagitis, their families and the medical professionals that treat them.
EE is an isolated eosinphilic inflammation of the esophagus. It may cause pain, nausea, regurgitation, and vomiting. If EE persists for years, it may cause a narrowing of the esophagus that leads to dysphagia or difficulty swallowing. In young children, many of the symptoms of EE mimic those of gastroesphageal reflux. The disease can be devasting and cause lifelong problems if undiagnosed.
Research indicates that the prevalence of EE is increasing with diagnosis and treatment continuing to be a challenge.
The International Gastrointestinal Eosinophil Researchers (TIGER)

The International Gastrointestinal Eosinophil Researchers represent a consortium of world experts focusing on the role of eosinophils in gastrointestinal diseases. Consortium members with pediatric and adult expertise share new diagnostic criteria, build interest among young investigators, develop a research agenda for cooperative multi- center studies, and offer therapeutic strategies for the thousands of children and adults who suffer from this emerging disease.
CDHNF along with the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition ( NASPGHAN) is partnering with TIGERS to support EE research and education.
Visit this site often to find Eosinophilic Esphagitis slide set, diet and life style suggestions and the latest news, research and updates about managing the disease.
